A months-long investigation lands a 21-year-old Johnson City man behind bars after being extradited from a South Carolina jail.
On Dec. 5, 2018, officers with the Johnson City Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Embreville Rd. on an assault call, according to a release.
When officers arrived, the homeowners alleged Dakota Shasteen, 21, of 303 Wilson Ave. knocked on their door asking to speak with their juvenile son. When they declined, they allege Shasteen became angry and began driving his Lincoln Navigator in their yard, nearly striking the female homeowner.
The release also states that Shasteen pointed a “small pistol” at the male homeowner.
On Jan. 21, 2019, JCPD officers were called to the 1100 block of E. Lakeview Dr. where they were told Shasteen was present and armed.
When officers arrived Shasteen drove away in a Chevy Monte Carlo, almost striking a marked police car, before getting away from police after a chase.
On Apr. 23, 2019, an officer with JCPD traveled to Laurens, South Carolina where Shasteen was being held in a local jail.
Shasteen was successfully transported to Washington County, TN where he is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, April 24 at 1:30 pm.
