Marion girl in ‘stable’ condition, on ventilator after being struck by car

UPDATE 5/30: News Channel 11 has learned a prayer vigil will take place this weekend for a 12-year-old girl who was hit by a car while riding her bike Monday. 

The girl’s mother has identified her as 12-year-old Kiara Tirado and shared the above photo with us on Thursday. 

The Marion Police Department posted details about the prayer vigil on their Facebook page.

According to the post, the vigil will be held at Riverbend Park in Marion on Saturday June 1st at 8 p.m.

A 12-year-old girl who was struck by a car earlier this week is in “stable” condition according to her mother. 

The child was riding her bike in Marion when was struck around 5 p.m. Monday on South Main Street. 

The child’s mother tells News Channel 11 that her daughter remains in stable condition and on a ventilator following the crash.

The driver of the car will not face any charges according to police. 

The crash remains under investigation.
