Kingsport police are introducing a new four-legged officer to the public. Meet Charlee.

Charlee is a gift from professional service dog trainer Bill Creasy.

He is a purebred English Labrador Retriever and was given to the Kingsport Police Department last year (March 2017).

Charlee, only two years at the time, partnered with Sergeant Kevin Hite.

The dynamic duo trained extensively and are now certified as a team in explosives and narcotics detection with the Police Canine Association of America (PCAA) and the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA).

On Wednesday, March 20, KPD publicly thanked Creasy, a Kingsport resident, for his generous donation and congratulated Sgt. Hite and Charlee for all their hard work.
