KPD: Man charged after wife found dead in home

UPDATE: Kingsport Police have charged a man after his wife was found dead in their home on Barnett Drive.

According to KPD, police were called to the home about 11 a.m. Sunday by the landlord, “due to concerns over alleged marital issues between” Jennifer Carr and Tobias Carr, her husband.

Police met with family members outside the home, who also expressed concerns.

According to KPD, officers made contact with Tobias Carr. They ordered him out of the house.

A search of the house led to the discovery of Mrs. Carr’s body. The report stated that she was “deceased from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.”

Tobias Carr is charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evident. He’s being held in the Kingsport City Jail without bond.


KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – Kingsport Police Department officers are currently near the Hobbs Trailer Park in Kingsport investigating a death.

Kingsport Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Patton told News Channel 11 that the KPD is currently conducting a death investigation in the 300 Block of Barnett Drive in Kingsport.
