A community-wide Easter egg planned for this weekend has been canceled due to the weather forecast.

Preaching Christ Church and Food City will not hold the 6th Annual Hop To It egg hunt that was supposed to take place Saturday at Andrew Johnson Elementary School.

According to Storm Team 11, there is a 70% chance of rain Saturday with a high temperature of 48 degrees.

“To make it up to all of the wonderful families of our community that join us each year for Hop To It we would love to invited you to Rise Together on April 28th at The Farmer’s Market in Downtown,” the church said in a statement Thursday.

The Rise Together event will feature free carousel rides, live music, inflatables and more. Wristbands for free carousel rides will be handed out from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on the 28th. The carousel will open at 1 p.m.
