There were some tense moments inside a Dickson County courtroom Friday as Joseph Daniels’ attorney begged a judge to move his client from a state prison in Davidson Co. back to Dickson County for the third time.

A motions hearing was held for Joseph Daniels in Dickson County.

He’s facing murder charges in the death of his son Joe Clyde Daniels.

Daniels once confessed to murdering his son but later recanted that statement.

Joe Clyde’s mother Krystal is also charged in the case.

Daniels’ attorney has been trying to get his client moved from Riverbend maximum security back to the Dickson County Jail where he says he would be able to meet with Daniels more privately.

However, the state argued that they believe Joseph Daniels simply wants the transfer back to Dickson so he can be closer to Krystal.

“This again seems to be a way to try and get Mr. Daniels back to Dickson County Jail, and I believe an effort to get Mr. Daniels to talk with the co-defendant, Krystal Daniels,” the state’s attorney argued.

The judge denied the request for the move but said accommodations will be made so that Daniels and his attorney can meet in private.

Daniels’ murder trial has been delayed until next year while investigators test evidence.

The boy’s body has still not been found.
