Johnson City police say a man is facing multiple charges for reportedly breaking into vehicles parked on the property of the Johnson City Housing Authority.

JCPD says Eric Gunn, age 25 of Johnson City, was arrested on Saturday and charged with two counts of burglary of motor vehicle and criminal trespass.

The thefts were reported by witnesses that morning in the area of South Broadway and Pardee Street.

Gunn reportedly ran away before police arrived.

Police said the description of the suspect from witnesses and video matched up with a man who entered the nearby Family Dollar Store.  Police received a call from the business about a man, matching the theft suspect’s description, entering the store.

Police arrived and later arrested Gunn.

According to JCPD, Gunn was on the JCHA “trespass list”.

Gun was last reported behind bars at the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on a $20,000 bond.
