The Johnson City Development Authority is hoping to draw more attention to the downtown area of Johnson City with new events and upgrades.
The JCDA presented its ideas at Monday night’s commission meeting.
Priorities for the JCDA include creating more public and private parking in the downtown district, and connecting ETSU students, faculty and alumni with the downtown area through special events.
“We know what a great place Downtown Johnson City is, but it’s up to our promotion folks to let everybody else know how great it is to be downtown and our events and activities drive that,” said Dianna Cantler with the JCDA.
Johnson City will also continue its year-long events celebrating the 150th sesquicentennial.
