Johnson City Commissioners block proposed housing development on Browns Mill Road

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Johnson City Commissioners on Thursday blocked a proposal that would’ve brought new housing development on Browns Mill Road.

Commissioners voted against the idea after it received backlash and concern among community members.

This vote also followed after the board reviewed traffic studies from the area that claimed Browns Mill Road could accommodate for a higher flow of traffic, despite homeowners’ concern of potential traffic hazards.
