Johnson City At Home and Hobby Lobby stores set to open in mid-July

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)- News Channel 11 has confirmed that home decor superstore ‘At Home’ and ‘Hobby Lobby’ will open in mid-July.

The two retailers will be located inside the former Kmart building on Peoples Street.

There is a third retailer expected inside that building. That store has not yet been named.

This information comes from the President of Blackwater Resources, John Abernathy.

At Home to open location on former K-Mart property in Johnson City

The new retailers are on the same road where Johnson City crews are installing a traffic light at one of the city’s busiest intersections.

City officials said they will be adding a traffic signal and increased turn lanes where Peoples Street and Greenline Road intersect.

Work on the three-month-long reconstruction project began Monday, April 22nd. 

Further down the road Chick-Fil-A also recently closed for renovation so they can rebuild a state of the art restaurant.
