Jennifer Palmieri and Doris Kearns Goodwin to speak at ‘Festivial of Ideas’

Eastern Tennessee State University has announced that Former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin will be two of the speakers during their inaugural ‘Festival of Ideas’.

Palemieri was the Communications Director under the Obama administration and was the head of communications for the Hillary Clinton Campaign. Her event, “An Evening with Jennifer Palmieri” will be held on January 28, in the Millennium Center Ballroom on the second floor at 6:30 P.M. The doors open at 5:30 and an answer and question session will take place after the lecture.

Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize winning authors event, “An Evening with Doris Kearns Goodwin” will be held  on January 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the Millennium Center.

“This festival is a new initiative that highlights the role of the institution as a thought leader in the region and beyond,” said Dr. Jeff Howard, ETSU associate vice president for student affairs and festival co-chair. “This four-day event will provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, information and experiences between noted speakers and members of the ETSU community as well as the region.”

The event will run from Jan. 28 until the 31. All events are free and open to the public, no reservations required.
