Johnson City Police has charged a woman with a slew of charges, including aggravated burglary and kidnapping after a late-night incident on Sunday.

According to information provided by the department, Crystal Chatman, 38, no address available, has been charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault, interference with emergency calls and simple assault.

Officers were reportedly dispatched to 14 Regency Square in reference to a domestic disturbance around 9:41 p.m. according to documents from the department.

An investigation revealed that Chatman forced her way into the resident of the victim. Officers state that once the victim attempted to call 911, Chatman knocked the phone out of her hand, breaking the phone.

Chatman then reportedly prevented the victim from leaving the apartment, physically, by blocking all exits and holding a knife while threatening the victim.

Once the victim was able to escape, neighbors intervened, resulting in one of them being assaulted.
