Consider it a joyride gone wrong on the Tweetsie Trail.

Johnson City deputies say Jimmy L. Jordan, 40, of Gray, has been with charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm and resisting arrest after he was reportedly driving a motorcycle on the Tweetsie Trail on Saturday.

According to investigators, officers watched Jordan driving down the Tweetsie Trail and then performed a traffic stop. Deputies say that during the stop, they were alerted that Jordan had an active arrest warrant out from Washington County (TN) for violation of probation.

Investigators say that when officers attempted to put Jordan into custody, he tried to prevent officers from putting handcuffs on him.

It was during that time that officers found him in possession of a handgun, a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, numerous small baggies, a glass pipe, and a scale.

Investigators say Jordan had the drugs on him with the intent to sell.

Jordan was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $23,000 bond.

His arraignment is set February 28 at Washington County General Sessions Court.
