A local woman now faces felony charges after reportedly stealing a car, according to investigators with the Johnson City Police Department.

Deputies say Taylor Vestal, 20, of Johnson City faces charges of stealing a vehicle, driving on a revoked license and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop from Friday.

Investigators say an off-duty officer called 911 saying they were behind a possible stolen vehicle that left the city’s jurisdiction.

Once officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen, they conducted a traffic stop on Vestal.

Deputies say Vestal was found to be in possession of the stolen vehicle, counterfeit money, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and was driving the stolen vehicle on a revoked driver’s license.

Vestal’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday at the Washington County Courthouse.
