An inmate died while serving time at the Carter County Jail Wednesday.

According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, 59-year-old Steven Paul Ollinger, Sr. was found unresponsive in his cell around 6:15 Wednesday morning.

A corrections officer called for a medical team who provided Ollinger with first aid and CPR. They were unable to resuscitate him.
