JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- Saturday night dads and their daughters danced the night away for the annual ‘My Little Valentine Daddy Daughter Dance‘ at the Memorial Park Community Center in Johnson City.
Organizers told News Channel 11 the event in Johnson City draws hundreds of people every year.
Dads we spoke to said it’s a good chance to get dressed up and have a fun-filled night with their daughters.
Michael Sprouse said he’s been bringing his daughter Emery four four years, and said they travel all the way from just outside of Asheville, North Carolina.
“Our favorite part is just getting dressed up and spending time together,” Sprouse said.
Another dad at the dance, Corey Shoun, said it’s become a tradition to bring his daughter to the dance.
“We’ve been coming here every year, four years in a row, I’m here with my daughter, we look forward to it every year, we have fun dancing,” Shoun said.
Organizers said they sold more than 600 tickets to the dance this year.
