HCSO: ‘No’ evidence of credible threats at Cherokee High School

Local

A spokesperson for the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office confirms they are investigating rumors of a possible threat at Cherokee High School.

The Hawkins County School District says the alleged threat is circulating in the community and on social media.

Both the district and sheriff’s office posted to Facebook saying there is currently no evidence that these rumors are credible.

But, school officials say they are staying alert and following safety procedures.

Last week, the sheriff’s office confirmed that two students at the high school did bring a gun with ammo to the school.
