Visitors of the new Hands On! Discovery Center in Gray will soon find a new, one-of-kind feature to explore.

But while work is underway to complete the three-story climbing wall, Hands On! will remain closed the rest of the week.

Hands On! tells us 3D replicas of fossils uncovered by the site’s paleontologists are embedded on every level of the structure.

“Our goal and our mission is really to bring science to life but also inspire kids and adults to learn something new,” said Hands On! president and CEO Andy Marquart.

He hopes children who see the fossils up close will perhaps one day pursue a career in science.

Hands On! Discovery Center will reopen Monday, August 20th. The new climbing exhibit, however, is projected to open to the public Labor Day weekend.
