The man charged with robbing a Carter County pharmacy in 2017 has now been sentenced to nine years in prison.
According to court dockets obtained by News Channel 11, Jason Stout will now have to serve nine years and three months in prison for the 2017 robbery of the Hampton Pharmacy, located across the road from Hampton Elementary School.
Stout was previously charged with aggravated robbery but entered a guilty plea for the lesser charge of just robbery during a hearing on Friday at the Carter County Courthouse.
Stout was charged with robbery of the pharmacy in February two years ago after staff members say he stole several items, including prescription pills, and left in a red SUV.
After a manhunt that lasted for hours, Stout was arrested by Carter County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
