FINAL: Bucs fall to App State 7-42


BOONE, N.C. (WJHL) – The Bucs were not able to match up to the Mountaineers today as they lost 7-42.


The Bucs are struggling to keep up as their reheated rivalry in Boone is underway.

The Buccaneers have yet to score as they head into the second half.

Appalachian State’s Zach Thomas had the first touchdown of the game and has so far rushed for 28 yards.

Before the half, Thomas completed a 6-yard pass to Williams to put them up by two touchdowns.


ETSU quickly got on the board in the third quarter, making it 7-21.

The Apps weren’t far behind with another passing touchdown to increase their lead.

App State rushed for another touchdown in the fourth, pushing their lead to 35-7.

With just under six minutes left in the game, App State passed for another TD, making their lead 42-7.

The final score: 42-7. Appalachian State is the victor in Boone.
