BLUFF CITY, TN (WJHL) — A new access area has been opened on South Fork Holston River.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and the Tennessee Valley Authority hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony opening the new J. Forrest Thomas Access Area on Thursday morning.

The area is named in memory of J. Forrest Thomas, a Bluff City businessman and philanthropist.

The new access area is located a few miles outside of Bluff City limits on Dry Brand Road. This new access area provides sportsmen and women an excellent opportunity to utilize the natural resources in the area, most notably trout fishing.
