As heart disease remains the number one killer of women in the United States, the American Heart Association is using their annual fundraiser to shine a spotlight on the problem.
The Tri-Cities “Go Red for Women Celebration” will teach both men and women, decked out in red, about the disease at their event Thursday, May 2.
The fundraiser kicks off at 5:30 in the evening with breakout sessions, interactive stations, health screenings, photobooths, a dinner feauturing a keynote speaker and much more.
The goal of the event is to create awareness about the disease that will take the lives of one in three women. It is also encouraging women and men to take preventative action and sustain a healthy lifestyle.
The “Go Red for Women” movement wants to show women that being heart aware is important, and encourages them to take charge of their health so they can live stornger, longer lives.
