Firm selected to study casino-style gambling in Virginia

The Virginia Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission has selected a Colorado-based firm to conduct its study of casino-style gambling in Virginia.

The innovation group will lead the efforts of casino gaming regulations and report back to the commission by its deadline of December 1.

The bill could eventually lead to the establishment of the $250 million Bristol Resort and Casino at the vacant Bristol Mall.

No casino license could be issued until July 1, 2020, according to the legislation.
