The former Bristol, Tennessee, police officer, fired last year after speaking his mind about the department’s window tint enforcement policy, is now working for another area law enforcement agency.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office confirms the agency recently hired Phil Kiersnowski. A spokesperson told us Kiersnowski is currently working as a detention officer.

As we reported in December, the Bristol police chief fired Kiersnowski after he pulled over Sen. Jon Lundberg’s daughter and gave her a window tint citation, criticized the police department’s stance on window tint violations and asked her to call her dad to try and put a stop to the aggressive enforcement initiative. Body camera footage captured Kiersnowski’s actions, including the officer’s efforts to try and mute his microphone.

Kiersnowski previously told us while he regrets the way he went about the situation, he stands by his comments.
