People gathered in Elizabethton Wednesday to celebrate America’s birthday.
The City of Elizabethton and Elizabethton Parks and Recreation hosted an Independence Day Celebration at Covered Bridge Park.
The event took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The celebration included live music, a bike parade, and more.
Free watermelon slices and ice water were offered to attendees as temperatures soared into the 90s.
Kids got to enjoy inflatables, games, and even pick up autographs from some Elizabethton Twins players.
A fireworks show is scheduled after the Twins game against the Kingsport Mets tonight.
