One of the largest employers in the Tri-Cities region will sponsor a first of its kind event in the Tri-Cities aimed at celebrating diversity and pride in the LGBTQ community.
Eastman Chemical Company announced it is one of the sponsors of the TriPride Parade and Festival.
It will be held next month at Founders Park in Downtown Johnson City with hopes of holding the festival in other parts of the Tri-Cities in years to come.
Eastman leaders say as a global community they recognize the importance of promoting inclusion and authenticity within the company.
“Eastman not only decided to step up and help us but they’ve decided to step up in a big way. They are going to be THE festival sponsor, one of the biggest sponsors of the event,” said TriPrideTN Founder George Chamoun. “So a huge thank you for Eastman for giving us a chance, believing in us, and doing a little bit of help to give us a chance a build a more inclusive and welcoming community in the Tri-Cities.”
The TriPride Parade and Festival takes place Saturday, September 15th.
A parade will begin in downtown Johnson City and a festival will wrap up events at Founders Park.
