JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A long-vacant lot on Johnson City’s South Roan Street has a new occupant on the way: Dollar General.
According to building permits filed with the City of Johnson City, a new commercial building project under the development of Mississippi-based DG Holdings, LLC is slated for construction at 1433 S Roan Street. Images taken by News Channel 11 staff show work underway at the site.

According to fixture plans submitted by developers, Dollar General 23855 will include three self checkout (SCO) locations and one in-person register in the building’s 2000+ square-foot footprint. The project’s estimated cost sits at $900,000.

Fixture plans also include an open-air produce section and a rough layout of the business’s product placement.
