Dentist donates tourniquets to local sheriff’s office

A dentist donated life-saving equipment to a local sheriff’s office on Tuesday.

Dr. Dave Templeton supplied the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with combat application tourniquets and carrying cases.

The donation will allow every deputy and school resource officer to have the life-saving items with them at all times.

The tourniquets were originally used by the military during wartime to save someone who was bleeding at a dangerous rate.

The donated tourniquets cost about $2,000.
