Christmas is already in full swing at Dollywood.

The East Tennessee theme park kicked off its “Smoky Mountain Christmas” over the weekend.

Tennessee icon Dolly Parton was in Sevier County to light the lights and talked about the love of Christmas during a one-on-one interview with News Channel 11.

“There’s so much to do, but Dollywood, every time I come here … it’s a feeling,” Parton said.

When it comes to visiting Dollywood, Parton says whether it is the holidays or any other time, she hopes patrons love the experience.

“Dollywood is a feeling,” Parton said. “We want them to feel happy.”

Happiness is also at the heart of Parton’s next big project – the movie “Dumplin”.

The Netflix movie debuts Dec. 7 and features actors Jennifer Aniston and Julianne Hough.

Parton says she couldn’t say no to Anniston and that Hough will play the “heartbreaking, homewrecking” title role Jolene.

“She made a beautiful Jolene,” Parton added about Hough.

Another project is also around the bend. Parton tells News Channel 11 there will be another “9 to 5” for fans.

“Absolutely yes,” she said. “We’re doing that now and Fox has already bought it. The script is being written. We get the first script right away and as soon as we get that perfect, after all these years, we’re going to do a sequel.”

Parton says Jane Fonda and Lilly Tomlin have signed on and the message is perfect for today.

“We covered the issues but with some humor and fun,” Parton said about the previous movie. “But did a lot of good and hopefully we can do the same with this.
