An employee of the Mall at Johnson City is celebrating her 95th birthday and her family, friends, and co-workers wanted to get her something special.
They all surprised Eula Fields with her own designated parking spot right near the mall entrance, and a birthday party.
One of Eula’s friends reached out to New Channel 11’s Sydney Cameron about the parking spot and explained how Eula usually has to park a far distance away from the entrance.
Sydney put her in touch with a mall spokesperson and they did the rest.
“I wanted her to have her own personal parking space,” said Eula’s friend, Shirley Johnson. “And so we got together with the Sears manager and Charley’s manager and the mall manager and everybody working together and the ladies of Thankful Baptist Church made this happen for her and we’re so grateful to do that.”
Eula said she was so surprised. “It’s just wonderful. I’ve never dreamed of anything like this. And that parking spot – that will be wonderful to have.”
Eula has worked at Charley’s Philly Steaks at the mall for nearly ten years handing out samples to mall visitors.
