JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)- Friday morning employees at Chick-Fil-A on Peoples Street posted on social media reminding customers Saturday would be their last day before they close for an extended period of time.

The store’s operator, Tim Burchfield, said the restaurant will close April 13th and should reopen in early September.

That location is shutting down for a complete rebuild as they work to bring a “state of the art” restaurant to Johnson City.

The new development will cost around $3 million and add 2,000 square feet to the facility.

The kitchen will also double in capacity.

The new drive-thru will feature a canopy, as well as heaters, cooling units and a door to give employees access to customers in line.

It will also wrap around the remodeled parking lot giving it more space for vehicles.
