Cassandra St. John is this Week’s Educator of the Week

Local

Cassandra St. John’s story began with an undergraduate degree in English and Masters in Secondary Education.  Still, she didn’t know what she wanted to do even toying with law school at one point.   Then she spent time tutoring middle school students and all her questions were answered

She is now in her third year teaching 8th grade English and Language Arts at Gray Middle School.

Her conversational style shines through in her classroom. The circle configuration is something she brought from her high school days. She still remembers that chapter as a tutor that changed her story forever.

“It just felt natural. Interacting with them and my co-workers.  What I was doing just felt important.  I remember having a student take one of the assessments and he jumped two grade levels from his first test and to see his excitement on his face was a bigmoment.  It stuck with me,” Said St. John.
