The Carter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple incidents of animal dumping in the Teaberry Road area of the county.
According to a department spokesperson, the department has received calls about dogs found in that area, both dead and alive.
There have been at least two incidents involving dead animals.
Yesterday, extra patrols were requested to try to curb the animal dumping in that area.
The spokesman said it can be hard to resolve these cases as many of the animals don’t have collars or microchips.
The deputies are concerned with getting the dogs found alive treatment and taking them to the shelter or with properly disposing of any animals found dead.
The spokesperson said animal dumping is a problem across the county.
