Carter Co. Schools closed August 23, citing lack of substitutes and bus driver shortage

CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Carter County schools will be closed on Monday, August 23.

The closure was not a regularly planned off day by the district, and according to a post made to social media, it’s due to a shortage of bus drivers and lack of substitute teachers.

District officials stated they anticipate a full opening of schools on Tuesday, August 24 once they have reassigned teachers and substitutes.
