BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL)- Officials with BVU Authority said a squirrel most likely caused a power outage for dozens of customers Friday morning.

Don Bowman with the BVU Authority told News Channel 11 that power was out for around 75 customers in the area of Long Crescent, Belleair Lane and Santa Monica Drive.

Bowman told News Channel 11 Friday, “We believe it was a wild animal. We found a dead squirrel that had been electrocuted.”

BVU Authority officials said power has since been restored to those customers.
