Bucs fans stay hopeful at the Wild Wing Cafe ETSU Watch Party after going scoreless until halftime

The Wild Wing Cafe held the ETSU official watch party this afternoon, reeling in close to one hundred students and local fans.

The restaurant normally has a watch party on Saturdays, but its usually for the University of Tennessee fans. This afternoon that was not the case.

An overpowering majority of blue and gold was obvious. The ETSU Athletic Department and Bucky the Buccaneer joined in on the fun.

The watch party held a raffle for fans to participate in throughout the weather delay and halftime.  They gave away ETSU cups, shirts, and pom poms.

Though the team did not make a touchdown throughout the first half, Bucs fans remained hopeful and proud of their team.

“Its just a football game if they win, they win,” said Jacob Lyle, a local fan. “If they lose, they lose. But, I’m proud of them for hanging tough.”

Through a long term perspective, the Bucs are just starting their season and students are looking forward to future games.

“This is only game two,” said Rana Zakaria, an ETSU grad student.” The first game we did a really great job, so we have a long season to go. “

The next ETSU game will be away next Saturday, September 16th, against the Virginia Military Institute Keydets at 1:30 pm.
