BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) – A squirrel got the chance to live another day thanks to a Virginia State Police sergeant.

VSP says its Bristol-area sergeant found the critter trapped inside her patrol car.

The squirrel was found unharmed and removed from the vehicle according to VSP. It was then released into the wild.

So our Bristol Area Sergeant isn't going nuts, after all! There really was an animal trapped inside her #VSP patrol car….
