BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — Hard Rock executives stood before the Bristol Casino Friday morning to introduce what marks Virginia’s first casino spanning 30,000 square feet and featuring nearly 900 slots and two restaurants.

The casino will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It had been slated to open at 2 p.m. Friday; however, officials opened the doors to the public an hour and a half early.

Located at the former Bristol Mall, the Bristol Casino will serve guests day and night as the construction for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino continues.

The temporary full-service casino boasts ample parking for guests as they enjoy 21 tables, a sportsbook and a non-smoking gaming area. Eateries include Mr. Lucky’s and Brick’d.

“…It’s so exciting,” said VP of Marketing Marc DeLeo. “And so much work has gone into this. We’re just pumped to open the doors to the public and see who comes.”

People have been lined out the doors for hours in anticipation.

“We kind of got out about 4:30 a.m.,” said Vito Sidella of Big Stone Gap. “[We’re] just up here trying to hopefully get a look and go from here.”

News Channel 11 will stream the event live on the WJHL Facebook page and WJHL.com.
