Johnson County BOE approves mask mandate for school employees

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Johnson County Board of Education has approved a mask mandate for school employees.

The Board of Education voted 3–1 Thursday night to approve the mandate, which goes into effect Friday. Board member Kevin Long cast the sole “no” vote.

Staff members will be required to wear masks if within six feet of another person.

Students will not be required to wear masks.
