Soulful tunes of country music will be flowing through Covered Bridge Park soon.
The 53rd annual Covered Bridge Celebration gets underway June 14-15 in downtown Elizabethton with several activities on the agenda for festival-goers.
Organizers will give an update on the event during Thursday’s Elizabethton City Council meeting.
Daniel Grindstaff helps organize the musical acts for the festival and says several award-winning artists will be at the event. The headliner for this year’s celebration is country music star John Berry.
According to the musician’s website, “the singer-songwriter rose to stardom on the country charts of the 1990s with such mega-hits as Your Love Amazes Me, Standing on the Edge of Goodbye and She’s Taken a Shine. His annual Christmas tours brighten the holidays for thousands, as does his electrifying rendition of O’Holy Night.”
The entertainment lineup includes:

Bill and the Belles: An old-time country and vaudeville group who puts their own spin on a golden era of music
