Authorities: 100+ tires dumped in Mendota community of Washington County, Virginia

WASHINTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL)- Officials with the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office said Thursday they were investigating a case where more than 100 tires were dumped in the Mendota Community this week.

Sheriff Fred Newman said they were called to the area of Nordyke Road, Percheron Road, and Caney Valley Road, where they found multiple tires in the roadway.

Authorities said the tires were spread out over several miles and included lawn mower tires, and vehicle tires.

Washington County, Virginia officials are now asking for the public’s help.

If you saw a vehicle or trailer carrying multiple tires late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning you are asked to call authorities at  276-676-6000.

They added that a reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals that are responsible for the dumping of the tires.
