Alo Telford manufacturing plant closing by end of 2019

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL)- News Channel 11 has just learned Alo Tennessee, INC., will be closing operations in Telford by the end of the year.

According to the company’s managing director, Martin Philpson, they have notified employees about the closure.

Right now the company employs around 100 people.

Philpson said they could not come to an agreement with the landlords to renew the lease.

Back in April Director of HR, Jim Soggs, said the company was looking at “every option” moving forward and that no plans have been made for the future of the manufacturing plant.

According to Alo’s website, the Swedish-based company opened the Telford plant in 2009. The company announced earlier this year that it was opening a production facility in China.
