3 arrested in Bristol, TN found with $30K, nearly $100K worth of meth


BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) –  Investigators say they have arrested three people after a major drug bust in Bristol, TN uncovered thousands of dollars in cash and methamphetamine worth nearly $100,000. 

The Bristol, TN Police Department says on Monday it responded to 3825 W. State Street after receiving a tip about possible drug activity in a hotel room. 

Investigators obtained permission to search the room and found about a kilo of methamphetamine, 3 ounces of Marijuana, imitation drugs pressed as Xanax pills, a firearm, assorted drug paraphernalia, and approximately $30,000 in cash.  Investigators say the methamphetamine has an approximate street value of $80,000 to $100,000.

Officers arrested three persons for the following charges:

  • Melissa Renea Daugherty, DOB 9/21/1973, (Possession for resale of Meth in a park zone, Maintaining a dwelling, Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia)
  • Hailey L Hale, DOB 10/20/1994, (Possession for Resale of Meth in a park zone, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) 
  • Devin Cloyd Ashby, DOB 10/14/1985, (warrant out of Virginia for distribution of Schedule 1 or 2 drugs).
