Lee County, Va. Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two people Monday on multiple drug charges following an early morning traffic stop.
According to a LCSO news release, deputies saw a maroon Honda Accord swerving across the center lines several times and conducted a traffic stop, where he made contact with driver, Glenn Adam Hilliard, 32, of Kingsport.
Deputies said Hilliard’s speech was slurred and he had bloodshot eyes.
Hilliard was given field sobriety tests and performed poorly on them.
According to the release, Hilliard told deputies that he had been smoking marijuana and methamphetamine earlier.
Hilliard was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, distributing schedule I or II drug, two courts of possession of schedule I or II drug, possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of a schedule III drug and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
Vincent Ray Tester, 30, who was a passenger in Hilliard’s vehicle was also arrested and charged with distributing a schedule I or II drug, two counts of possession of a schedule I or II drug, two counts of possession of a schedule III drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hilliard and Tester were taken to the Southwest Regional Jail in Duffield, Va., where they were being held without bond.
According to the release, Tester was also wanted on an assault charge out of Bristol, Va.
Arraignment for Hilliard and Tester was scheduled for Wednesday.
