KPD officers search for attempted auto burglary suspect

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – Kingsport Police Department officers are searching for a male suspect who allegedly tried to burglarize a car parked in the driveway of a Kingsport home.

According to a KPD news release, the incident happened at a home on Lamont Street around 10 p.m.

The owner reportedly left his car unlocked by mistake overnight.

The suspect was able to get into the vehicle, rummaged around the inside of the vehicle, but left empty-handed.

The suspect was captured on surveillance cameras.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect pictured is asked to call KPD Criminal Investigations Division at 229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 246-9111.
