KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man was convicted on child pornography charges after prosecutors say he told elementary school girls to make their own “Girls Gone Wild” movie.

Howard Finnis Melton Jr., 68, was convicted Wednesday of sexual exploitation of a minor after a jury deliberated for only 10 minutes. Assistant district attorneys with DA Charme Allen’s office said in June 2015 a report was made that years earlier, Melton had shown two elementary school girls a copy of a “Girls Gone Wild” DVD, told them girls frequently act like the women in the video and they needed to make their own version.

The victims testified they made a video and gave it to Melton. Investigators searched Melton’s home and found a DVD labeled “Girls Gone Wild Movie” with the victims’ names, but the contents had been deleted.

Melton could face two to four years in prison. Sentencing is set for June 2.Copyright 2016 WATE. All rights reserved.
