Kingsport CVS robbery suspect charged, mother arrested in 2015 for robbing same store

UPDATE: Kingsport Police Department officers arrested a man Friday for robbing a pharmacy on Memorial Boulevard in Kingsport.

According to a KPD news release, officers were called to CVS Pharmacy, 5215 Memorial Blvd., where a man had reportedly entered the store claiming to have a gun, threatened store employees with violence and demanded prescription medications.

Employees gave the man the drugs and he left the store.

Following an investigation, Hunter L. Jenkins, 22, of Kingsport, was identified as the suspect and was located at his home.

Jenkins was arrested and items stolen in the robbery were found.

He was charged with aggravated robbery and incarcerated in the Kingsport City Jail, pending his arraignment.

According to the release, Jenkins’ mother, Rebecca S. Smith, was arrested for robbing the same CVS about 11 months ago on May 31, 2015.
