Jonesborough food pantry host ribbon cutting at new location


JONESBOROUGH, TN (WJHL) – Jonesborough officials cut  the ribbon on a newly located food pantry.

The food pantry is a partnership between the town of Jonesborough and the local ministerial association.
The town has provided the facility which is the former location of the senior center.
The building was named after Elmer J. Gillespie for his service to the ministerial association as the director of the food pantry for more than fifteen years. 
Mayor Wolfe said, “Elmer know what god has called him to do and he wakes up every day and he does it. And thats the food pantry service. And I hope one day that I could have the clarity of purpose that Elmer has.”
The facility is completely operated by volunteers and Mayor Kelly Wolfe said it is a much need service to the people of the Jonesborough community. 

The food pantry is open on Thursdays from 9 AM until Noon

The pantry says they are happy to accept donations and are always in need of them.
