Johnson City commissioners will vote Thursday night on whether to spend money to develop a new marketing brand for the Tri-Cities Region.
Last year, some Tri-Cities business leaders said the region needed to market itself with one voice, under one umbrella name.
One early suggestion was Appalachian Highlands.
An agenda for the commission meeting Thursday night includes a vote on approving an addendum to the city’s contract with a marketing research firm to get recommendations for a regional name.
The Johnson City Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday.
