KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt is doing some fan coaching as the Vols’ annual spring scrimmage, the Orange and White game, approaches.

“We need our stadium full” at the April 13 game, Pruitt said.

Players are important in recruiting, “but the next thing is just the passion of your fan base,” he said.

“The timetable has moved up in recruiting so the more people we have in Neyland, the better selling point it is for our football program and the University of Tennessee,” he said.

The Orange and White game is free and starts at 6 p.m. Fan activities start earlier and several other Vol sports have home games.

“When you put as many fans in our stadium as will be, I think that will kind of amp the guys up.”
